OUR COMMITTEE
Wembley Basketball Club has teams playing in both the Altona Basketball Competition and the Westgate Basketball Competition. We have teams in all age groups from Under 8s through to U21s, with multiple divisions in each grade.
PRESIDENT – EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEMBER
Beck Thomas
To ensure the club promotes the participation and achievement of its teams. Ensure the club is run efficiently administratively, financially and socially to support all on-field activities.
The President helps the committee prioritise its goals and keeps the committee on track by working within the club’s framework. At an operational level, the major function of the President is to facilitate effective committee meetings.
Must be totally committed in implementing Basketball Victoria, Local Basketball Association and Wembley Basketball Club Policy and Procedures.
TREASURER – EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEMBER
Haridini Simson
To ensure that a financial management and reporting system is put in place and operable so the club committee has an accurate understanding of the financial status of the club at all times.
SECRETARY – EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEMBER
Monte Antich
The club secretary is primarily responsible for all administration duties and provides the coordinating link between member, the committee and various stakeholders.
VICE PRESIDENT
Renee Lee
The Vice President’s role is generally to support the President and assist in fulfilling their responsibilities, often acting as a deputy. This can include chairing meetings, managing the strategic plan, and ensuring the club’s operations align with its goals. The Vice President also steps in for the President when needed. The Vice President should have a strong understanding of the club’s constitution, rules, policies, and legal obligations.
The Vice President may be involved in communicating the club’s culture, goals, and strategies to members, players, coaches, and other stakeholders. They may also play a role in investigating and responding to complaints and disputes according to the club’s policies.

A Basketball Child Safety Officer (CSO) is a volunteer role responsible for ensuring a safe and positive environment for children and young people participating in basketball. They work to implement and maintain child safeguarding policies and practices within a basketball association or club. The CSO acts as a point of contact for concerns related to child safety and well-being, and they guide the organization in creating a child-safe culture.
SPONSORSHIP CO-ORDINATOR

A sponsorship role in basketball involves attracting and managing partnerships between businesses and basketball organizations, such as teams, leagues, or events. This includes identifying potential sponsors, developing sponsorship packages, negotiating agreements, and ensuring sponsors receive proper recognition and value. Ultimately, the goal is to create mutually beneficial relationships that support the sport while providing marketing and promotional opportunities for the sponsors.
