When and where is training held?

Training is held on weekdays at Wembley Primary School in Yarraville. All sessions commence after 6pm due to the hall being used by the Out of School Hours Program (OSHC).

Due to the growth of the club, some teams have also opted to utilise courts at Bayside College in Altona North.

Rules for Training

  • Please ensure you don’t interfere with the Out of Hours School Program
  • Sweep the hall before training begins and after the last session
  • Return all balls and other club equipment to the correct storage location
  • Escort players into the hall and notify the coach or team manager if you’re not staying at training
  • Ensure siblings or other children are monitored in the hall and on school grounds
  • Start and finish training at the assigned time

Allocation of Training Times

As a club, we try to accommodate all requests for time slots. The general rule is that younger teams get first preference for the earlier time slots. Each season we review the new teams coming in and adjust the schedule. Training is generally limited to 45 minutes to fit everybody in.

Unless you only have one team training on the court, each team is allocated a half to train on. Coaches training at the same time have the option to organise full court drills if they want to.

Not training? You need to let us know!

Please notify the Committee ASAP if you’re not intending to train. For 6pm slot holders it is imperative that you report that you are NOT intending to train otherwise OSHC will lock the hall. This has a knock-on effect to all teams that come after you. For all others, an open and unattended hall will cause the club to lose the facility.
